Blueprint - Make Friends With The Colour Blue

The good guys at North Skate Mag have uploaded Blueprint Skateboards' last full length video, Make Friends With The Colour Blue (2010).

North Skate Mag:

When you think of Dan Magee you probably think of Waiting For The World, Lost & Found or First Broadcast. They were essential viewing in my house when I was younger. That got me thinking about Blueprints last release MFWTCB and how I hadn't actually seen it since it was released in 2010. I was chatting to Dan before the summer and mentioned that I'd be keen to watch it again, but couldn't find it anywhere online. He told me he hadn't actually watched it himself in a long time, it had never been uploaded anywhere, and wasn't even sure where it was. After some digging for his @meetatbenjys Instagram, he finally found it and sent it over for us to share. He had these words to say about it. "It's meant to be a concept album that all joins together, like the parts flow into each other. It was made differently to the other videos, it's meant to be a flip on the Ternasky formula. Instead of young dudes at the start and the end, we had the older guys at the start and the end with the younger dudes in the middle. Ches did a lot of the filming and I kinda concentrated on Shier, Colin, Coakley and a bit of Baines. The UK distributor of Blueprint [Faze 7] went bust during the filming of the video so I was made unemployed 2/3rds of the way through, I had to finish it off my own back." We both rewatched it this week and I have to say it holds up well. The VX quality is great and the classic blueprint feeling is present throughout. I'm not sure why it's not held in such high regard as the rest, timing perhaps? Who knows. Whether you're watching it for the first time or watching with fresh eyes, I'm sure you'll enjoy. Dan would like to thank Vincent Jugnet, Alex Pelletier, Zander Taketomo, Mark Nickels, Matt Hirst, Morph, CN and all the contributing filmers.
